Be a Friend

Posted by Christina Morley |

Lord, You taught me that to have friends,
I should be a friend.
And if I felt misunderstood, understanding
I should extend.
It’s not about protecting me, but about having
a heart that can bend.
Gifts of hope, gifts of love, and gifts of joy
I want to send.

by Christina Morley

I decided to post this poem today, because I need it for myself. It's been one of those days. I also feel more sensitive, and I can't take the hard knocks so well, when I'm ill and worn down. Do you ever feel that way too?

Yes, I do feel that way sometimes. Sadness or depression seems to magnify the negative things in my life. Then later I can look at the same stuff and see it is not as bad as I thought. Can't trust our feelings sometimes huh? Sorry you're in the yukky time, hope it passes soon.

Thanks, Denise! I needed the prayers. Just to say, my blogs have been on hold until I am healthier and stronger. God bless!

Thanks, Susie! I have been very sick and not even keeping up with my blogs. The toughest days are behind me. I consider my blogging friends as real friends even if we have never met. Blessings to you!

Oh for sure I feel like that sometimes. Some days not much of anything can knock us down and make it hard to get back up, while others it's as if we could take on the world!

New follower- brought here from the Exposure 99% weekday hop!Looking forward to more from you :)

Hi again Shel! What is your first name exactly? I keep calling you Shel as I figure Connors is your last name. I'm glad you could relate to the poem. I have 5 blogs and it seems you are connecting with them. I hope other people join the hop and find your blog. In case you're new to the Exposure 99% hop, they also have a weekend hop, which usually gets a lot of traffic, so look out for it. Hops are great because it helps us to make new friends. I miss having good female friendships over here in South Africa. I think a big part of it has to do with culture and personality types as I am American and from a direct culture and English is my first language. I'm in a town where Afrikaans is more commonly spoken and the people are very indirect. I'll be praying for you to find new girlfriends and you can pray for me! :)

Hi Shel! I love hearing people's real names. That is so cool! So, if you prefer Shel, then I'll keep it that way. It just seemed like I had half a name. :) Well, my Picture Perfect Part Linky hasn't been getting a lot of traffic. I hope my Make My Saturday Sweet hop will go better. Look out for it on Saturday! Take care and God bless!

Yes, some days are like that. Be sure to get plenty of rest and eat a good meal (that usually puts me right ...)

Aloha - popped in from the blog hop.

Thanks, Tami! I'm feeling much better! I checked out your blogger profile and thought your intro. was really funny and clever. I see you are in California. I so want to move there with my family! We're here in South Africa, by the way. If you would like to see beautiful photos of the region we live in, then check out my photography blog http://1camera1mom.blogspot.com
